What we do .
We are a High School project team that designs, fabricates, and tests custom UAV’s and related Systems to compete in AUVSI’s SUAS Competition
Engineering concepts learned in the classroom are put into effect to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the system
Industry Standard fabrication techniques and technologies are used to ensure integrity and precise tollerances of all parts
Each UAV System is put through several months of testing and hundreds of flight hours to guarantee the reliability and sustainability of the system.
An outline of our mission requirements
Autonomously navigate up to 4 miles of waypoints while calculating avoidance paths around obstacles
Object Detection Classification and Localization requires our team to autonomously identify various characteristics of targets in a search area using custom image processing techniques.
Our team is responsible for the creation and submission of a Technical Design Journal which outlines our engineering process from start to finish, as well as a Flight Readiness Review that serves as a greater overview of our systems and tests completed on them
A Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) must be dropped from a height of 100ft or higher and accurately and consistently hit a target. This UGV must then drive to a set of predetermined GPS Coordinates
Who we are
Team Animus Ferus is a high school based team located at the Flint Hill School. Consisting of members of our capstone Robotics and Computer Science Classes, the Team contains the best of the best and some of Flint Hill’s brightest minds.
